Coaching vs Psychotherapy
​
Coaching is not Psychotherapy. A coach is more like a partner who is helping to keep you accountable for your health, wellness, or other personal or business goals. A coach does not tell you what to do, but rather asks you what your goals are and helps create a path to reach those goals. A coach is most appropriate for people who generally feel “okay” in their lives, and are ready to make effective changes and take charge of their health, and may just need motivation, guidance, support, and accountability to get going on the new path. If your coach feels you will benefit from professional mental health treatment, it will be discussed with you.
Psychotherapy is best suited for individuals who need professional support in addressing significant behavioral or emotional challenges, or who have been diagnosed with a psychological condition.
